MBBS Degree (Fully Residential Program)
Kanyakumari Medical Mission Medical College and Research Centre, a constituent college of St. Joseph University, Tamil Nadu, adopts a compulsory fully residential MBBS program policy, effective from the academic year 2026–27.
The Board of Directors has decided that all MBBS students shall reside in the approved hostels for the entire 4 and a half years of the academic programme, including the 1-year internship, subject to leave permissions granted by the Dean and his team.
Objectives envisaged by the Board include academic continuity, competency-based clinical training, discipline, safety, and holistic development. Exemptions are allowed only under exceptional circumstances, such as documented medical needs, with final approval by the Dean.
This policy applies to all MBBS batches uniformly and will be implemented in conformity with applicable NMC and institutional regulations, as approved by the Governing Council of KMMC and St. Joseph University.
